Keep your kids safe on the internet

Before your kids head out the door this summer you'll probably ask, "where are you going, who are you going with and when will you be home?" That's all part of keeping our children safe...whether they like it or not.    But have you ever stopped to consider there's a way your kids can go places you'd never allow, see things they should never see and talk to dangerous strangers without ever leaving your home. kidsinternet.jpg

The Internet is powerful and for all it's extraordinary value to our families it can also be a dark and dangerous place for kids.   Perhaps your older child will be spending more time at home this summer, often in their room or alone while you are out of the house.   Even the most trustworthy child may be tempted to just ‘look around' on line, especially if they think no one will know.    That's where WE can help!

We often recommend programs such as Go To My PC (http://www.gotomypc.com/) to our customers who work from home or need to access files on their desktop while traveling.  It's also an excellent tool for keeping your kids internet experience a safe one as you can monitor exactly which sites they've visited and how long they stayed.

What about privacy issues?  We asked good friend and behavioral specialist Dr. Drew Edwards (http://www.drdrewedwards.org/) what he thought about the privacy issue.  "Our highest priority as parents is to keep our children safe," says Edwards.   "Safety trumps privacy any day."
